Jack Hayford has a great column about Jesus’ response to Thomas:
“Jesus was willing to meet Thomas exactly where he was. Realist to realist. ‘Put your hand here, Thomas. Put your finger here. Touch Me. Stop wavering in unbelief and get on board!’
“Again and again I’ve seen the hand of God reaching into the most practical details of His children’s circumstances. I’ve seen Him meet men and women in their doubt and perplexity. I’ve seen Him answer the specific prayers of honest seekers. The Lord says to us, ‘I know the things you have questions about and doubts about, and I will address them directly if you’ll ask Me to.’”
I’ve just finished watching Luther again—I highly recommend it! I was deeply moved by it when I first saw it in the theater about a year ago; my sister Jennifer had called and urged me to see it right away, saying it wasn’t likely to play long. I saw it a few days later. Oddly enough, it stayed in town for about a month, and I took my older son Zack to see it as well. Zack loves history, and I wanted him to see the life and impact of this most influential figure…
I saw In Good Company last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s the story of a good man (he happens to be named Dan) who mentors Carter, a man half his age, showing him what a meaningful life is about…

“The Latin saying ‘Aquila non captat musca’ (The Eagle doesn’t catch flies) is used to indicate that wise people do not engage in minor activities.…
From chapter 3 of Believing God, Moore offers 5 faith statements that help us learn to raise the shield of faith. Her rationale is that the shield is the first line of defense—if the shield stops the “fiery darts of the enemy,” then the armor (and what’s inside the armor) is protected. Because the enemy’s […]
I’ve just finished the first chapter of Beth Moore’s Believing God, and I want to take a few minutes to record my thoughts on what looks to be a great—and challenging—study.…
As I was flipping through the channels, I heard one character on All My Children say to another: “To hate your parent is like drinking slow-acting poison. It only kills you in the end.”
An amazing story from cbn.com: Korn Meets Christ: The Conversion of Brian Welch.
You can hear about it here: Brian’s testimony.
One of the cool things about this story is that Valley Bible Fellowship (where the testimony was taped) is a church where someone like Welch could come and be accepted without question. There’s as much of […]
